The Secret Registry of Suspended Apologies

Where do the never-spoken apologies end,
those chewed and then swallowed whole,
or whispered to the distracted wind,
without an ear having received them?
There is a registry, they say, a cadastral map
of silent, invisible papers,
where ethereal hands, without haste,
catalogue them in rows never opened.

Each ethereal sheet, with the ink of the unsaid,
carries the exact weight of a denied “I’m sorry.”
Some, pristine and fresh, still intact,
await in vain their final fate.
Others, crumpled, with a sign of tears,
have traveled for years, without destination or port.
They are atoms of time, imprisoned breath,
a promise of peace that finds no echo.

And there they rest, in an order that does not change,
voiceless, yet a chorus never silenced.
They ask for no pardon, they seek no revenge,
but vibrate an echo, light, in every crevice.
They are the subtle weave, the unknown shadow
that changes the color of any given day,
the unsaid thing that digs, slow but deep,
the silent furrow of an absence that always lasts.
