Versisognanti is a static website: there is no login area, no registration, no comments and no forms. You do not have to provide any data to read the poems. The only data processed is what the services described below collect automatically.

What data is processed #

Technical logs. The hosting provider automatically records the IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested and the browser type. This keeps the site running and protects it from abuse, and it is kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

Reading statistics. Collected by Google Analytics 4, as explained below.

Advertising data. Collected by Google AdSense and its partners, as explained below.

Email. If you write to the address on the contact page, the data in your message is used only to reply to you and is not shared with anyone.

No individual profiles are built, no profiling takes place beyond Google’s advertising profiling, and no data is ever sold.

Google Analytics 4 #

The site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to see how many people read the poems and which pages work best. The service uses cookies and similar identifiers to recognise repeat visits in aggregate form.

Google Analytics 4 does not store the full IP address: it uses it to estimate the approximate location and then discards it. The data collected is statistical and does not identify you.

You can stop the collection entirely by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Google’s own privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

The site displays adverts served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and advertising identifiers to show adverts based on your visits to this and other sites, to limit how often you see the same advert and to measure how campaigns perform.

The cookies used here fall into three families: technical cookies, needed for the pages to work; analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4; and advertising cookies from Google AdSense and its partners.

Legal basis #

Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679) for analytics and advertising cookies; the legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure (Art. 6(1)(f)) for technical logs; responding to your request (Art. 6(1)(b)) for the emails you send.

Where data is processed #

Google may also process data in the United States. Transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long data is kept #

Statistical data for the retention period set in Google Analytics, in any case no longer than 14 months. Hosting logs for a few days. Emails for as long as the conversation requires.

Your rights #

You may at any time ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, object to processing and receive it in a readable format (Arts. 15 to 22 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679). You may also withdraw consent already given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. Write to [email protected].

If you believe your data is being handled unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of the country where you live.

Minors #

The site is not intended for children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data.
