Sidereal Thirst

Dried well, throat parched and mute,
No water now that heaven can embrace.
But an ancient thirst the soul surveys,
To dream of a thousand stars once more.
In vain the darkness watches, an open wound,
The constellations dance above, a veil.
Without water mirror, its soul is unsure,
A thirst for light that finds no sky anymore.
