Echo of a Distant Blue
An ultramarine blue, deep and vibrant,
upon the walls of a dream, of peaceful time.
It shone like a gem in children’s eyes,
a promise of days without boundaries.
But the scorching sun, the rain and the breeze,
grazed it softly, with a sweet caress.
Now it is fainter, a muffled sigh,
a faded shadow of what was loved.
I sometimes search for it, in the grey present,
an ancient shiver shakes my mind.
It is the echo of laughter, of distant faces,
the caress of hands that were human.
That blue now faded, is no longer bright,
but lives in the heart, a constant echo.
It is more than a color, it is a piece of me,
a golden memory that time cannot extinguish.
