The Exuberant Flight of the Grain

From the warm womb of the bowl,
without warning, from a bed of grains,
a white body, light, takes flight,
past the walls, beyond ancient borders.
No push nor intention, just a sudden dart,
an improvised, silent liberation.

Descrives an arc swift in the air,
a candid pearl in the thin void.
For an instant it is only this:
a whiteness that grazes nothingness, gentle.
It challenges gravity with a faint and bold dance,
a mute flash, a fragile gesture.

Then it descends, without crash nor effort,
among its kin, a small return.
No applause, no outcry,
only the silence of its ephemeral stay.
But in that moment, a shiver of whiteness,
was the freedom of the grain, in its brief day.
