The Breathing Suitcase

Inside an open suitcase, the city breathes.
The streets unroll through seams like breaths of fabric.
Towers are soft shadows, the lanes wrought in filigree.
Every label is a window onto a neighborhood that never sleeps.
Dreams drift in like stardust, grazing the zipper edge.
A memory ignites names of roads and distant seas.
The suitcase becomes sky, a map pulsing to the world’s rhythm.
And I walk within the breath of the city that remains open.
