The Brass Passage

In the heart of every hour, where time knots itself,
and the hidden rhythm unravels its destiny,
a brass tooth, precise and patient,
performs its eternal motion, never tired, never latent.
It sees neither the clear day, nor the night that hides
its constant work, a tiny sail
that pushes the mechanism, every moment,
unaware of the haste that the world brings it.

È un perno solo, lucido, una spinta fedele,
nel suo roteare intento, che nulla gli svela.
It seeks no glory or light, nor the gleam of gold,
but its motion is a tale, without pause nor chorus,
it draws the moments, the material time,
the exact imprint of every signal.
