Iron Promises

The dream climbs upon abandoned trains,
among seats of rust and fogged-up panes.
It tells the carriages promises untold,
whispers of wind that never said ‘yes.’
Each carriage listens, in silence, to memory,
while the rail line remains faithful to its time.
The dream writes with weight upon the cold metal
and the echo returns the words left open.
