Hourglass Among the Stars
The stars breathe out, a thread breaks apart
the night air shatters on the city walls
and breath becomes an echo through the palaces
A rain of hourglasses beats on old pavements
grazing the steps, time loses its color
every grain is a minute nailed to the cold
the sky falls silent and recomposes the tremor
the city holds its breath, then lets it fall lightly
so the night reforms itself, among lights and hours that are counted
