Breath of Empty Pockets

The city breathes among the fingers of passersby,
empty pockets, closed doors of memory.
A breath of wind reveals paths untrodden,
asphalt lets fall names that won’t return.
Every step sows traces of forgotten glances.
Memory stretches from pockets to the lights of palaces.
Thus the urban breath remains shared time, light.
And when people pass, the city vibrates in the chest of those who leave.
