Breath in Hand

The breath of forgotten things coils like a mist
in the palm of the hand, trembling and slight
through dust and scents of home, whispering distant memories
and time becomes a thread linking present to past
Revealing an inner city, with streets of glass and stone
houses of memory awaken, shutters of patience
each window tells a memory that breathes again
and I walk between breath and time, until tomorrow is born
