Ardent Silence

The silence rests upon the high sky
without voice, it sows a small flame
through the veins of rain runs a shining light
The drops break into cold flames
and the rain becomes a river of copper
that flows within the veins, ardent and quiet
And when every breath falls silent, the fire remains
in the whisper of the rain, silent and alive
a promise that burns slowly, inviting the dawn
