Promises of Sand

The night lights speak a language of reflections,
exchanging promises between shadows and cracked glass.
The sand, silent, retains every whisper
in a broken hourglass heart that breathes.
Time descends like grains that confess nothing,
but each grain guards a tomorrow fading sweetly.
Lights and sand weave an ambiguous and tender accord,
and the broken hourglass remains, guardian of promises.
