# Privacy Policy

**Last updated: 6 October 2026**

This page describes what data www.versisognanti.com collects, who processes it and what your rights are. It is written on the basis of how the site actually works.

## Data controller

The data controller is the author of Versisognanti, who publishes under this pen name. For any request about your data: **contact@versisognanti.com**.

## How the site is built

Versisognanti is a static site: its pages are ready-made files, not built from a database at every visit. **There is no members' area, no sign-up, no comments, no newsletter and no forms to fill in.** You are not asked for any data to read the poems.

The data described below is collected by the third-party services the site uses, not directly by the author.

## Server logs

The site is hosted on **Cloudflare Pages** (Cloudflare, Inc.). Like any web server, it automatically records the IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the browser type and the operating system.

These logs are needed to deliver the pages, to protect the site from abuse and attacks and to understand what is not working. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

## Visit statistics — Google Analytics 4

The site uses **Google Analytics 4** (Google Ireland Ltd.) to know how many people read, which poems and from which countries. With your consent, Analytics sets cookies and collects your navigation path, browser language, device type and an approximate location derived from your IP address; according to Google, Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

If you connect from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland and have not given consent, Analytics sets no cookies and reads none: it can only send signals without identifiers (for example that a page was opened), which cannot recognise you or link two visits together. Outside these areas the banner is not shown and Analytics works normally.

The data is not used to recognise individuals and is not combined with other data. Legal basis: consent; for cookieless signals only, legitimate interest in measuring how the site works in aggregate.

You can turn it off for all websites by installing [Google's opt-out add-on](https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

## Advertising — Google AdSense

The site is funded by **Google AdSense** (Google Ireland Ltd.). Google and other advertising vendors use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads based also on your previous visits to this and other sites, to measure their performance and to avoid showing you the same ad over and over.

If you have consented, ads may be **personalised**, that is chosen according to your interests. If you have not, you will see non-personalised or "limited" ads, chosen according to the content of the page and your approximate location, without profiling.

The full list of vendors, with the purposes of each, is in the consent banner, in the section where you manage your choices.

- How Google uses data from sites that use its services: [policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites](https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites)
- How Google uses advertising cookies: [policies.google.com/technologies/ads](https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads)
- Google's personalised ads: [myadcenter.google.com](https://myadcenter.google.com/)
- Personalised ads from other vendors: [youronlinechoices.eu](https://www.youronlinechoices.eu/)

Legal basis: consent. For some purposes certain vendors claim a legitimate interest of their own: the banner shows which ones and lets you object.

## The consent banner

On your first visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message appears. It is run by Google's consent management platform, certified under IAB Europe's Transparency and Consent Framework. Until you choose, Analytics sets no cookies and ads are not personalised.

You can accept, refuse, or choose purposes and vendors one by one. Refusing does not stop you from reading anything.

Your choice is remembered by a cookie of the banner itself, so you are not asked on every page. You can change it or withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, from the "Privacy and cookie settings" link that Google's banner adds at the bottom of the site's pages.

## Fonts

The site's typeface (Manrope) is loaded from **Google Fonts** servers. To deliver the file, your IP address reaches Google, even before any choice in the banner. Legal basis: legitimate interest in displaying the pages properly.

## If you write to the author

If you write to **contact@versisognanti.com**, your address and the content of your message are processed to reply to you and, where needed, to keep track of the matter. They are not used for anything else and are not passed on to anyone. Legal basis: your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

## Cookies

**The site sets no cookies of its own.** The ones you may find are set by Google's scripts: Analytics and AdSense, described above (where required, only after consent), and the consent banner, which has to remember your choice.

You can delete or block them in your browser settings. Blocking them all does not stop you from reading the site: no feature depends on cookies. If you also delete the banner's cookie, you will be asked for consent again on your next visit.

## Transfers outside the European Union

Google and Cloudflare are US companies and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Transfers are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the United States (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) and, where needed, on standard contractual clauses.

## How long data is kept

Server logs are kept for as long as security requires, usually a few weeks. Analytics data is kept for 14 months at most. Emails stay in the mailbox while the matter is open, then they are archived or deleted.

## Your rights

You can ask at any time to **access** your data, to have it **corrected** or **erased**, to **restrict** or **object to** its processing, to receive it in a readable format and to **withdraw** any consent you have given, without affecting what happened before (Articles 15–22 GDPR). Write to **contact@versisognanti.com**.

If you believe your data is not being processed properly, you can contact the supervisory authority of your country; in Italy it is the [Garante per la protezione dei dati personali](https://www.garanteprivacy.it/).

## Minors

The site is not aimed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their data. If you notice that this has happened, write to the address above and it will be removed.

## Links to other sites

Some pages link to sites that Versisognanti does not run. Once you leave this site, that site's policy applies, not this one.

## Changes

If the site changes — one service more, one less — this page is updated together with the date at the top.
