# Oxide Cartography

Oxygen bites the iron peel,
draws extinguished slabs
on old plates that the time stretches,
while silence is tightened.

They are maps of kingdoms that no one has sought,
continents born in a slow martyrdom,
a red delirium advancing stubborn,
writing the decline with a savory kiss.

Under the crust that the sun shines,
beats a heart of tired mineral,
that in disface finally heals,
leaving a mark of copper and mud.

## Explanation

The work is configured as a deep meditation on the transience of matter, raising a chemical process to an aesthetic and philosophical phenomenon. In the initial phase, the interaction between the atmosphere and the metal surface is described as an active erosion that generates visions of lands that emerged from the off color. Time acts as a tangible force that consumes physical support, while the surrounding quiet amplifies the perception of this unstoppable change.

The focus of reflection then moves towards a spatial and symbolic dimension, interpreting the corrosion stains as geographical plots of unexplored domains. This chromatic and material evolution is presented as a slow and constant labor, a sort of chromatic progression fever that narrates the sunset of the object. Degradation is not only seen as destruction, but as an involuntary writing that marks the passage through a corrosive and ineludible contact.

In the conclusion, the analysis penetrates beyond the outer layer shaped by light, revealing the unsuspecting intimacy of the mineral component. Here emerges a vital paradox: the decay of the original structure coincides with a form of healing or return to the essential. The end of industrial solidity leaves the place to a chromatic and terrifying imprint, marking the definitive passage from the rigidity of human construction to the primordial fluidity of natural elements.
